FOR COMMERCIAL CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
MISSION
The creative and solution-oriented management of commercial conflicts is one of the focal points of Van Gompel Advocaten (VGA).
With the VGA Academy for Commercial Conflict Management, VGA wants to contribute to the promotion of conflict management specifically aimed at handling disputes in the corporate sector.
Business conflicts are inevitable. During our seminars and intervision moments, the participants are provided with legal and other tools to effectively resolve conflict situations.
PROGRAM
During the VGA Academy for Conflict Management, all tools are used with which today’s lawyers work for a solution-oriented approach to commercial disputes.
You will delve into:
- The psychology of a dispute
- Interest-based negotiation
- Mediation
- Arbitration
- Special procedures (such as dispute settlement, strike action and distribution disputes)
- Evidence
- Preliminary measures
- Procedural issues
- International aspects, etc.
ACTIVITIES
The VGA Academy for Commercial Conflict Management focuses on 2 types of knowledge transfer:
knowledge transfer via specialists in the field and intervision moments.

THE VGA AWARD FOR CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
From 2023, the €1000 VGA Award for Conflict Management will also be presented annually to a qualified entry that contributes to the promotion of the practice of Conflict Management.
Below you will find the detailed conditions of the competition:
Conditions for participation:
- The submitted contribution is about the subject of Conflict Management.
- The author may not be older than 39 years in the year of award.
- Each entry must be submitted before August 31 of the calendar year via the contest page.
- The VGA Award for Conflict Management will be awarded before November 30 of the calendar year.
- The winner will be contacted personally. The winning submission will also be communicated via our website and social media.
- The winner's contribution will be published on our website.
- VGA reserves the right to change these contest rules between August 31 and December 31.
